Quest Atlantis in North Carolina Schools
By bpace | August 18, 2007
George Newman from One Planet Education Network is seen here presenting the M.U.V.E (Multi-User Virtual Environment) Quest Atlantis to a group of North Carolina media coordinators.
Quest Atlantis, a teaching and learning project from Indiana University, is being piloted in 11 IMPACT Model schools in North Carolina.
George says test scores often increase, especially among poorly performing students. He also says student motivation increases.
Quest currently uses some badging and leveling and is working on more leveling to keep things interesting - along with the social collaboration - this looks like a great idea for engaging students.
North Carolina SCOS objectives are already aligned with some of the quests.
